Default Dead Stick on 5 speed 2.0L

Hey Peeps I got a problem. This car hasn't been driven in almost a year and a half so, last week I went to put it in gear and nada, I could move the shift knob all around without catching any gears. I replaced the shift lever, shifter relay lever and the shifter cable ends under the hood (all the parts needed replacement anyway), and still nothing changed. I'm disassembling the gear shift housing now, but for the life of me I can't find anything out of order. Guess I'm going to crawl underneath it in the morning and check the cable ends there. Anyone have some insight into what could be happening here?
