Default Totally confused!

Ok, like the title says, after reading tons of posts found by doing a search, I'm totally confused about the transmission in our 2007 NB.

I know it is an 09G transmission, I know it is a Tiptronic 6-speed and not a DSG. I also know the Tiptronic is supposedly a different transmission than a DSG. Lastly, I know I need to change the fluid and filter every 40K miles.

So what I am totally lost on is which filter I need to get (I've seen a canister type and one found in the pan)? What type (and how much) transmission fluid? And most importantly, how to drain and fill the transmission?

I've read through lots of info on a DIY for the DSG transmission where you drain and fill it through the pan with a special hose and filler tube, and monitor the fluid temperature with VAG-COM (which I have). But as I said, I have 6-speed Tiptronic not a DSG. Does the method for the DSG drain and fill also apply to the 09G 6-speed Tiptronic?

In short, if anyone can tell me the type of filter, the type and amount of fluid I need, and a good DIY on how to do it I would be grateful.

Thanks,

Glenn
