i have a Turbo Auto bug and the transmission is starting to jerk whenever the car changes gear....how do I maintain the transmission so that it would shift gears without jerking??

Might not hurt to have the transmission pressure flushed.

How long have you owned the bug?

13k is relatively new. I'd drop/clean the pan, replace the filter and refill with new ATF every 40-50k. Check the thread started by fohveh for more details on how to DIY.

That almost sounds like a warrenty issue. You could ask the dealer if that is covered.
