If I can get my rear wheel bearing swap completed in time I'll head down. I hope thats all it is other wise Im going to need to get a complete rear beam off of you, Jerry.

well tommy im doing the fronts on herb later today (friday ), i picked the spindles up today from the shop that pressed them in for me , the drivers side was bad i went ahead and did both ,
aaron stop by when ever , im taking friday off to start the project , gonna pull the doghouse off and yank it right out the front .

ahhh the old is out and now come the task of swapping over the essentials , thanks to growler for a helping hand in getting it out ,he was only here a short time but we got alot done , thanks Aaron!

Just Talked to Jerry..

its no wonder the motor was sounding so bad..

turns out that the #4 ConRod is busted and it flopped around in the block and knocked a hole in the block about the size of a fifty cent piece...

OOPSIE..


anywhoo he is spending the afternoon swapping over the accessories and the tranny. won't be putting the motor in until tomorrow.
fun fun..

hopefully he takes a couple pics of the carnage to share.

1A beat to death spark plug
1b part of piston
1c a chip off the ole block

#2 looky a peep ho ,, buckwheat lubs to peep

#3 aaron i got bored ,,the engine is in

#4 buckwheat sez everyting gonna be OOOO-TAY

the previous owner said he thought the head gasket was bad ,,hmmm and there was maybe a broken piston ring ,,,RING UH HELLOOOOOO !!

yeah i can stick my finger in the hole and move the rod around ,,

theres goes my idea of building a hi-po 2.0 for herbie ,,darn back to plan B ,,anyone have a good late model 6 cylinder and 6 speed tranny laying around call me

ill spend sunday afternoon trying to remember where all the plugs plug in to ,and rehang the rad. and condensor
when i pulled the fuel bar off the blown motor , the rubber o-rings were all tore up , so i need to hit the dealer early monday morning to get them then i can put that on and drop the intake on and try to fire it up
then eberyting will be O-TAY

Wow CHUNX of the motor.. yummy.

If the dealer doesnt have the injector o-rings, try international auto parts on Main near James rd. they should.
