Hey all. I wanted to invite all New Beetle.orgers who have been looking for a reason to get together close to home by announcing the 6th annual HAPPYS VW SHOW AND PICNIC!!!!
Where: GEORGETOWN, IN
WHEN: SAT MAY 21ST 1OAM TO 5PM

Jonk and I have been to this show a couple of times and we were not dissapointed! There are over 100 VWs of the air cooled variety, a few WC and a few New Beetles (2 for sure) If you live in the Southern part of IN or in or around Louisville, KY. This is a great time! bring your picnic lunch and drinks (no achoholic bevs please) and plan to enjoy a very good time. There is live music and several tables set up with all things VW. It would be great to have a great showing of Nwe Beetles there on the 21st!!!!!

If you Google the phone number listed for the May 21st date, Happys Auto is in New Albany,In. which is across the river from Louisville. Happys Auto Inc in New Albany - (812) 945-8921

I checked out Georgetown, In. too and saw it was up north of Indy which didn't seem right to me, so I checked out the phone number listed.

That would be one heck of a drive for me. I would almost have to mortgage the house to pay for gas.

I called and talk to Happy's today and he said its @ Harrison Co. Fairgrounds in Corydon,IN.

I'm so sorry, I must of gotten the name wrong. You would think I would know the name since I have been up there twice!!! Happys store is just across the river, the picnic is not but about 30 miles up the interstate, 45 minute drive. I'll call Happy tomorrow and get the correct name of the place were going. Its much much closer to Louisville than Indy

Thanks so much!!!! I'm sorry, I have been under the weather, I haven't even felt like turning my puter on. I'm really sorry about the wrong name. Georgetown is where one of the last outside drive in theaters is. Sorry for the confusing. CORYDON, which as you guys said, much closer to Louisville. I hope, not that you have gotten the right information, everyone will decide to meet us at IHOP!!! Wouldn't it be great to have 10 new beetles there! Last time we went there were only 2 in a sea of AC and some Jettas and other VW WCs

Actually there is a Georgetown, IN that is 20 miles from Louisville, that is the home of the drive in I was talking about.

still planning on going but after the car show saturday i set a lawn chair against the house and it fell over a put two big scratches down the back fender of my car...i was sick to my stomach.So i have to see if i can get it fixed before the 21st.

Yes, I'm with Jonk, Sorry it happened. I know exactly how you feel though, I accidently knocked a bike over on Ernie's hood. Nothing I can do with it. I'm glad you are still going though!!!! Anyone else wanna meet us?

i'm going to run around monday to some body shops to get some quotes.They are not deep scratches so hopefully it won't cost alot to fix.

What time are you going to meet at IHOP? Are you planning on eating first then going?

My wife wants to see the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, so we kind of compromised and we can go the show, stay a short time, then go there.

Well my mistake with the lawn chair(see above) is going to cost me $375.00...ouch! Getting it fixed monday so it'll be ready for the picnic
