Default Spring Show and Go

Hi all -

Well I've certainly got the fever after Blown Euroz yesterday. The next event on my calendar is the Spring Show and Go in 2 weeks in Englishtown, NJ. Sunday, April 13. $25 to show, $15 for adult spectators.

Who's showing? Who's going?

More info. at http://www.gti16v.com/eng1sho.htm#eng1sho.

still not sure. It hasn't been warm enough to prep the car for a show....and I'm spending a lot of money in april, so I'll have to decide closer to the event.

I'll do more than say hi so long as we can get there. My car's in bad shape right now. I have been much to busy to even think about the car as far as priority right now. Than with the door hinge busting, now i need painting. Seriously, i'm in no shape to be showing.

Assuming i go i will be saying some hellos and hanging out.

You need painting? Why? Your car is like 4 years old!

I'm more than likely not coming to this one, between preparing for my trip and just a general lack of interest in the whole "scene".

When the hinge snapped it rubbed my door against the fender and it's rubbed down to the primer. So i have 2 panels that need a respray. My armrest is broken. I need a tuneup. I basically need about 2 weeks worth of elbow grease.

In all seriousness, though, I'm very busy on the weekends nowadays. That, and I am generally disillusioned when it comes to the show scene. Same cars, same high prices, have to travel. I'd rather do all that to go to an autocross or HPDE, not to stand around for a $5.00 trophy.

Valid point about the trophy. They can't even stick a VW on the damn thing? Weak. I just like to go to spend the day with my friends and maybe a little bragging rights if it goes well.

That's not even the point. I just think the scene is stale and too full of BS. I'd rather spend my time and money elsewhere.

Some shows are getting a little "bleh" for me, but I've always liked SnG a lot. If anything they got a great swap area And I love catching up with out of towners I don't get to see too often. And I love having an excuse to detail the car and show it off.

...ok, I just like the whole thing
