Default I made it, and open for business.

Hey guys, pretty much all moved in. Just bought a sewing machine today, just need a few things to get the room "upholstery" ready. With that said if anyone in the area needs some upholstery work done, let me know. I do it for a living and will be doing side work out of my house to help pay the bills. I'll definitely hook up the NB's. Speaking of, they picked mine up Monday, hoping it gets here in one piece next week. Anyways, if you need anything done, drop me a line. Thanks, and look forward to seeing some of you at shows in the future. --Matt

Cool

Congratulations on getting up and running with doing some side work for yourself. Maybe we could see some proposals for matching front and rear seat covers (front seats would need some opening to allow airbags to safely deploy)...

Yeah those were good times. I'll miss it back there, well some of it .
As far as seats, I'm working on trying to get ahold of the thread used for airbag seats. All I keep finding is thread used for airbags themselves. I will be redoing my entire seats in my car, and patterning them for others. Unfortunately I have the sport seats, which are not the most popular seat in these cars. So to make ones for the others I'll need some donor seats to pattern from. We'll see how it goes. In the meantime, I can do inserts and stuff no problem.

I'll see what you do with yours, then we can talk about donor seats

I may be able to help with the donor seats as well. Its a second car and I could drop off the seats since you live in the same town I work.

That would definitely be sweet, obviously I'd hook you up for the donation. I still don't have my friggin' car, so until then, I can do nothing

I should be installing new seats this week. So my beetle seats will be out of the car for good if you need something to make templates out of.

it's always cheaper for complete stock-looking swaps for you to just get the covers and have them installed. It wouldn't be worth it to make all new covers out of cloth, plus as of now I can't sew up the airbag part.

Josh, the big problem is that in order to get "correct patterns" I need to cut open all the seams and trace the individual pieces. If you care less about the covers, then fine, otherwise they are pretty much worthless when I'm done with them.

I am having a minor setback, the machine I bought isn't what I need, so I have to get a different one. The table and motor work great, just need to swap out the head with something a little more geared towards upholstery.
