Hi all,

Sorry I've been slacking on my show threads - things have been a little nuts, but I'm getting back on track.

Waterfest 15 car show - Sunday, July 19 - racing on Saturday and Sunday that weekend.

Pre-registration only - deadline is July 12!

Who's showing? Who's going?

Lady and I will be in Mod 1.

Just got my show packet yesterday, in Mod 1. Dana, I'm a little surprised they put you there. I'll be even more surprised if Deb isn't in Mod 2

Wow, guess I should be there. I'd like to learn more about performance mods for my car. Could probably pick up some show specials there too. Not really interested in racing. I mean, I've been the full racing route with another car in the past. Not looking to make the beetle into another race car. Just a faster street vehicle to enjoy. Not thrilled about driving it there and leaving it in the parking lot either. :-( How much does registration cost? I didn't see it listed without filling out the form.

EDIT: I looked again and found the home page. $35 to Drag Race. Regular event entry is $15 anyway. Maybe I'll enter. $20 is worth it just for closer parking lol. I should learn more about the euro tuning scene now that I am becoming part of it. Talking to vendors will definitely help. I bet I'll leave with a few goodies for my car.

I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Dan - I'm definitely Mod 1 - they count my graphics as a mod, the floor mats as a mod, the antennae as a mod, and the spoiler as a mod even.

Plus, if things start showing up that fit the car, I have lil things up my sleeve...

Just registered in stock class. Hope the weather is good. I wanted to do the autocross but don't want to spend the coin. Hope to get a couple door dings fixed before then, maybe at the show.

I have an idea, but why is it called waterfest? It does include VW & Audi and it has been around longer than the NB. I'm not sure I'm right.

It's watercooled cars only. You won't see the old air-cooleds there.

Bear with my limited knowledge. I thought only the old beetles were air cooled. Were some type 1 WC? Did much else come that way from VW? Did Audi make anything air cooled?

Scott and I will be there. My baby will be home tucked into the garage. We are bringing Scott's MKV Jetta Wolfsburg. Not sure which category he is registered in, probably Mod 1 again, no big changes since last year. Stop over and say hi...here is a pic:

Yeah, pre-reg ended on the 12th I believe. You can always do exhibition? Autocross? Drag? Kill your tires/burn out contest?

you can do the exhibition "fun field" at the last minute - there's usually more cars out there anyway.

Ehh, I don't know. Seems kind of pointless to put all that work in the car, and then not even "compete".
