This is a very cool event, in it's fourth year. Usually lots of good cruises!

How long a drive is that from, say the Trumbull/Shelton/Bridgeport area? It seems there's been a bit of interest in a Ffld County GTG. Maybe we can piggyback theirs.

It's a really nice ride up Route 8, maybe about 45 minutes give or take from Trumbull.

Maybe we should be a cruise together, starting at Starbucks in Trumbull Center?

Let's see what kind of interest we get.

Anyone interested, post up!

what about the kohl's/target parking lot right off exit8 on rt8/exit52 on rt15?

it's a decent size, right on rt8 practically, and uh, i can find it.

there's a big cruise that meets up in ansonia, can't remember what the exit number is, it's where the movie theaters and dunkin donuts are right off route 8. DITT is like, the end of route 8. it's far but a nice drive. from bridgeport/trumbull area it's gotta be more than an hour, because it's about 45 minutes just from the ansonia meeting point to the park.

i see myself in the pics posted, haha. that was 2007, my bunny was there, RIP

it's always FREEZING up there, so everyone is aware. doesn't matter if it's 65-70 down here, it'll be 50 up there. and i'm getting my half sleeve finished that friday, so this should be fun to figure out how i'll keep warm and aquaphor'ed.

Ansonia is a better meeting place for me. Maybe the southern Ffld County crew can roll up together and pick up the Valley contingent on the way, then Bugavan on up Rte 8.

Woohoo! When the leaves drop, I can almost see the theaters off my back deck. Anyone who regularly drives Route 8 thru Seymour, you can see my house 1 street up above Gabby's Auto Body on the other side of the river. Give a double beep as you go by.

lol, i know exactly where that is. i'll wave next time i pass through

i don't know if the man and i will be at this cruise as he lives in cheshire and it would be a lot of backroad backtracking for him, so we may not join the cruise. who knows, if it's a nice day we might be up for the extra driving. 42 through bethany scares me though hell, route 8 scares me! i'm a wimp.

Wait a minute. You're driving to Maryland, but are afraid of Route 8?

i'm still trying to figure out how i will get to maryland. terrified of the GWB. i can take the tap and 287, which is a little better but very hilly. my biggest fear is that it's going to be raining. i can't deal, i'll be pulled over at a rest stop crying.

most parts of route 8 i'm okay with, it's mostly up past waterbury that gets scary.

it's not too bad kitty, it gets a lot worse at night (always does). i do try and avoid it as well (not exactly a vote of confidence there), but there's a lot worse sections of road in ct to be driving on.

i think for me the worst part of 8 is actually the end, that corner comes up way too quick (and it's decreasing radius too).

ps: check your pm's, tell me if that works for you, i have like 6 different ways that bypass the two major bridges.

Yeah, I hear ya. Can't STAND the GWB!

That's part of the reason I hate going to Englishtown. The traffic backed up there is alway brutal.

Anyhow, hook up with us at the Theaters, and then at least you'll have some "company" for the cruise up!
