'99 Dark Blue Ford Contour. Total POS! The only purpose it serves, is to allow me to keep my "toys" clean. lol.

We'll meet soon. Hopefully on the 3rd. Did you see the post about the cruise from Kohl's to L.I. on Sunday 4/11? Goin' to a really cool show at Legend VW/Porsche/Audi. Would love to have you along if you're interested.

this is a really laid back show, they only give out "best of's".

i got one last year because it was raining and hollywood wouldn't bring his car out. lol

it's more like a huge get together to start off the show season.

so, yeah come meet us and cruise to the show. a good time will be had by all.

Still trying to make it tomorrow...no sure yet. Probably gonna be one of those last minute things. Why can't stuff happen early in the week so one can make weekend plans without hassles!

I almost didn't make it today at all but at the last minute, was able to scoot on over to meet the guys for the cruise to the show. I got maybe half way from the meeting place to Sherwood Island and I get the friggin' check engine light! Why?...oh just because thats how my weeks been going..that's why!
I met a few great guys as well as Steve (Hollywood) and his amazing RufBug....that put my bug to shame but...lol...oh well, we were the only 2 Beetles at the meeting place. Great meeting you Steve...I only wish I got to speak with you a bit more. And, although I forgot his name, another great guy was the guy who moved here from FL recently and had to wait for his late ride..lol.
I'm so sorry I didn't make it to the show. I was so damn bummed but that just means I'll have to shoot for 3/11/10!
I had to run into Staples to get a car charger for my dead BlackBerry and ended up with one lonely pic....lol...of me following Steve out of the parking lot...damn I'm PO'd. Hope all had a great time and I guess I'll have to wait to see pics myself!! Thanks again for making me feel welcome! Everyone seemed to be very friendly folks.

Actually, as I was saying earlier, I haven't had too many mishaps with this car...but I guess I jinxed myself. As it turns out, it was only that stupid 8" vacuum hose on top of the intake. I probably should have just gone to the show...there would have been enough people there to lend a helping hand!

nice to finally meet the locals, steve and nigel. saw a bunch of old friends i hadn't seen in a while too. matt got some pictures, he'll probably have them edited and uploaded (or at least raw uploaded) shortly so i'll post some up. i know he took a bunch of me and nigel's cars together. don't think he took any of steve's, he got the few aircooleds, as he's an aircooled driver.

soooo glad it turned out to be a nice day! matt and i went to dinner with friends saturday night and the waiter asked if we had just come back from vacation, lol. we both got a lot of color, and sunglass tan lines

i would have gone except both cars are down at the moment. i'm stuck driving the srt4 right now, i REALLY thought i had the tune right on the vr6t beetle, but apparently it leaned out pretty bad friday night at the drags.

leaving the shop to go get the beetle, i hit SOMETHING with the jetta fierce enough to snap the bracket clean off the side of the motor. easy enough fix, yank the motor, weld the van gough on, and replace...so one would think.

i got a little ambitious and decided to um, NOT put the 5speed back in. so now janie has an extra gear and som extra power.

i'm still game for the 11th, the r2m beetle will be making a debut. steve, you wanna help detail the "s" out of it this week?

yo Kitty, great "FINALLY" meeting you too. ha ha. Nigel, wish we had a chance to say "hello". Justin, I'm gonna be in and out of the studio all week, but am DEFINITELY on for Sunday!

Hit me on my cell this week and let's firm everything up for pulling out of Kohl's at 7:00 AM sharp. Hope you've got our ride all mapped out, as I want to get there no later than 9:00 AM so those of us who are showing can be assured a good spot!

Hope those people on the Vortex who signed on for the cruise will post up this week to confirm.
