Where did you look for rooms? Maybe I've been too focused on just hotels. Found a decent deal at Best Western for booking early and I think with taxes, etc, it comes out to just under $400 for 3 nights. (I think prices for just hotels have gone up since last year I remember us only paying about $300)

i was in the market for a condo as they're generally a better deal for a whole week. i googled ocean city condo rentals or something and found a few sites. a cheap hotel i would recommend also is sea bay, we stayed there in 2007 for four nights and i think it came to well under $300. nothing fancy, but a good location and there's always a lot of people there so good parking lot parties. i'd stay there again. a lot of condos are only sunday to sunday or monday to monday but if you call they will usually be flexible since it's off season and they would rather rent it for a few nights than have it sit there empty. the place i got last year was technically a sunday to sunday but they gave it to me wednesday to monday no problem.

if you have the ability to be there for a week, i definitely recommend it. early in the week you can lounge and go play minigolf and do go karts and stuff, then once everyone starts to roll in on thursday you're ready to just watch cars and hit the show that weekend. last year we only did thursday to monday and i felt like i missed out on so much in ocean city.

I will be attending again this year, not sure on my hotel yet and hope to bring the beetle down in one piece this year

most of the group i was with last year stayed in the condo building across from SeaBay, and it was awesome. sounded like they didn't have any problem getting a thursday friday-monday deal and the rate was decent, especially for how nice the place was. I have the info if you're interested in checking it out (i ended up elsewhere cuz I wasn't sure I'd make it until later, alas... but hung out there quite a bit)

Well the dates were offically confirmed this morning!

We haven't even started on our Jetta's engine rebuild yet so I doubt that its going to be up there with us. But that means my bug should be along for the ride

a few weeks ago i showed my boyfriend the condo i booked on their website and i saw it said full size bed. i thought my confirmation paper said two twins (which we weren't too thrilled about) so i called to find out about the bed situation and a few other things. i tell the woman i saw on the website that the guest house had a full size bed. she said, "you're not in the guest house." which leads to about five minutes of me freaking out on her because someone booked me in the wrong condo. of course she says, "well didn't you read the confirmation letter?" yeah, i did, but that didn't really tell me much. i booked the corner condo for the view not paying attention to what beds it had, so a confirmation letter saying i had two twin beds wasn't going to mean anything to me. anyway, she says the one i want is booked and i should have called when i got my confirmation in february. so the next day i call and explain it all to the manager, who says he'll see what he can do. i find out in all this i also overpaid, since the place i was booked in was like $70 more than the place i requested. so i'm thinking, he's gonna call me back, say there's nothing he can do about moving me, and give me the price difference. well, i was wrong, he called about two hours later and said he moved me to the unit i wanted. i asked about the price difference, and it i could just get another night tacked on. he said no problem. so we are now in the right unit and for EIGHT nights! yay!

Things are now up in the air about me going down. If I do head down it may only be for a night or two. Not sure. But I'll have to see. Gotta love life throwing things into the mix!

Waiting for registration to open before I go booking the hotel - hoping I can cancel my Monday morning classes so I can crash on Sunday night after the show...

Made our reservations over the weekend! Got a few rooms in a hotel on 28th, across from Jolly Rogers. For my first year there, seems like we're going to be staying in the action, which is pretty cool. Staying with a bunch of people from our local VW group. Sounds like I'll be bringing the Bug. Hope to see some of you there!

I'm still on the fence about attending. Once i get some confirmation from the attorney, if he'll continue my court date from the Monday following, I'll probably be going if just for the day.

FYI: for anyone who wants to go admire your roots, there's an aircooled G2G at the jolly roger from 1-2 on saturday. my boyfriend is an aircooled guy so we'll be going, in my beetle though, haha.

i've got a pretty tight schedule but i'm down for something. best time for me would be midday early afternoon friday, if that works for people. late friday afternoon is a BBQ at my friends' condo, then tattoos and tacos. saturday is PACKED. aircooled G2G, ladies photoshoot, and photography G2G that night.

finally registered today, last year i registered as a convertible and i was with a bunch of cabrios and a couple eoses, this year i just registered as a new beetle. hope i don't get yelled at.

this time next week my boyfriend and i will be doing our last minute packing and trying to get to bed at a reasonable hour. i'm thinking we may leave at like 5am sunday morning. want to make it to OC fairly early, my parents are going to meet us there and stay for the night. will be fun to show them around.

I'll be there with my NB but I don't know our plans. We're going with our local VW club and staying with a bunch of people from there so no idea if we'll be hanging together or what. I think we're going to hit the Mk1 G2G (if they can settle on where its going to be and when). Also will be in club parking with NCDubs.org

Gonna bump this up to see if we can round up some more Org peeps. How bout a quick little ice-cream social. Maybe do it a little later say like 9 or 10pm Friday or Saturday. Now this may hinder some people's beverage consumption, so I am just throwing it out there. I am down with just about anything, as long as it's law abiding [ahem]. Remember, we NB's don't get a lot of love anyway, so it would be cool to get together and snap some pics,check out each others cars and shoot the sh#%.

Agreed. There is a Mk1 meet on Saturday afternoon but thats our only real plan at this point. Its our first year going so I have no idea whats going to go on. I'd like to hit a NB g2g if there is one.
