Default Anyone up for a GA GTG?

I'm still fairly new to the boards and have yet to join a GTG. I would love you see what everyone has. I see lots of Beetles in the Gwinnett area, yet never hear about you guys. So if there are any Beetles in the area...lets do something!

Hey Michelle in Auburn GA!! RaceKitty & I live in Tucker, but she grew up in Auburn. Aphid often takes us up your way to visit her family, so maybe we'll see you around.

As for GTGs, this Saturday there's a show in metro Atlanta called DurtyFest. It's not a Beetle specific GTG, but it's going to be a lot of fun. We have 3 other obligations, including a wedding, or we'd be there.

All it takes for a GTG to materialize is a group of folks committed to having fun and meeting new friends to pick a date, time, and place. Keep an eye on this forum for any announcements.

I'm fairly new to the .org also, but I think a Georgia NB gtg would be great.

So let's do it! Let's plan a GTG somewhere in Georgia. I'm assuming that somewhere near Atlanta or in Gwinnett would be a good area. But I'm open to suggestions. What do you guys think? Are there more Georgia members?

Surely there are enough Georgia members here who would respond positively to a gtg, provided we could have it in a central location to prevent long distant travel. Being new to the org I have no idea if we have local clubs, or just how the organization of such an event is done.

Come on fellow Georgia NB owners...lets get our bugs together for a visit!!

We're in Aiken SC just across the river from Disgusta. Come east abit and we'd be happy to drive west a couple of hours for a GTG. We're longtime members of the New Hampshire Volkswagen Club and miss getting together with other VW enthusiasts since moving south. We've had several dozen air and water cooled VW's over the years and have been out of the scene till we recently picked up our supercharged 2.0 99 NB.

I was actually thinking of doing the Alzheimers GTG near or in Athens. Would that be close enough? I think it would be a fun idea and for a good cause.

Not quite 100% sure yet. I'll let you know more on the details once I get more people interested. Check out the other post I made specifically about the Alzheimers event and let me know if you are interested.

Yes, I see you mention an Alzheimers event in Athens. Is this event already planned and are you attempting to coincide a GTG around this event? Or is this something you are thinking of putting together from scratch?

Okay, ignore what I just wrote, I jumped ahead slightly before realizing you'd posted new information in a new thread.

I think a GTG for a good cause like this is a great idea. Athens is a great place for such a thing, however one word of caution...Athens, in the fall means FOOTBALL. If dates are not an issue, you may consider a weekend when the Dawgs are away, otherwise traffic could become a huge issue. I look forward to updates!!

I'm sorry I didn't subscribe to this thread. It simply slipped my mind and a trip to Athens would definitely be doable.
