Sounds like a plan Shell. I'll PM you when our plans are firm. I'll do some checking. It seems to me there are one or two new members from the Augusta area

I'd just meet up for the museum and to say hey. I hope everyone is well and warm. Sincerely, Fritz

No, sorry you can't come with that car.....unless of course I get to drive the car
J/K of course you're welcome.

With a car like that...I don't care what GTG you come to! And if you know the person you sold the car too...feel free to tell them about the GTG as well. Homer, GA isn't that far??? I don't think.....lol

Hey there Michelle, When i traded my Beetle, i told the girl about the org. and she seemed to be interested but, she looked to be 7 months pregnant. I'd imagine her hands are full, and a real nice couple, but then, all nice people drive Beetles My custom touches sold the car. The car was for her and the husband had very little to say in the matter. When her child seat fit like a glove, her hubby handed me the keys to his 1955 Chevy that he had just found in a barn, 15K miles on it so i think i got the best end of that deal. I still have my '53,'63,'73 VW rail buggy but it might be a bit nippy out on the highway.

He just found it in a barn?! Wow, you really did get the good end of the deal IMO. Yeah, it might be a bit cold for the rail buggy, but you never know, we've had some 60 degree days here lately. Then it'll down pour, get cold, then the sun will come up...and be nice again. Strange.

Wow, I can't imagine what I'd do if I stumbled upon a 55 Chevy with 15K miles on it in the barn....lol

Ohnoes

I hope she bounces back (and your wallet too) so that both of you can make the trip! Otherwise, you can just hitch a ride with one of the many other beetles passing through that area!

I'm so sorry to hear this!!! I hope that maybe someone can at least pick you up along the way and you can still hang out with us, even if your baby is in the shop. The museum is cheap admission fee ($5 I think it was).

Let me look through this thread and the other to see who's all planning to come. I'll send out some pm's this week to remind people that this event is now only 4 weeks away! YaY!

Ok, here is a run down of the event.

Date: Saturday February 27th, 2010.
Start: 10am
Location: Micro Car Museum
2950 Eatonton Road
Madison, GA 30650-5028

From there we can hang out in Madison and eat or head back to Toad's place in Atlanta.

SO, here is a list of those people who have expressed interest in this GTG. I know I pm'ed a lot of you and sadly, I have forgotten which ones of you said "no" and which ones of you said "maybe" So, don't be surprised if you get yet another pm....asking if your coming. This GtG is coming up so lets all try to commit to this as best as possible. I know things happen and I understand if you say "yes" today and have to back out later. That's ok. Just let me know. So, here's the list:

MichelleRoze
Toad
The Cheat
vwgary
smartchick2009
raymondlee
shellbug
scarabY2K
CaptainXeroid
Tweek
Th1rt3en
HarlequinPixie
AyaneEiketsu
Fritznbug
FreakyBeetle
mrchaotica
raff
SilverDieselDemon
vibelife
70autostick

if you can't make it and want your name removed from the list please just let me know. I know not all of you are coming back toward the Atlanta area to hang out and that's ok as well. If you just want to come to the museum, that's ok. So, let's get this baby rollin'!!!

Is it the last weekend of the month yet? I'm getting excited, apart from having to leave the house at 5:30am to be there at the meeting time

Oh, forgot that some are traveling from a distance...sorry. But the Museum will definitely be worth it though and the drive I'm sure you'll enjoy. Highways are pretty open at that time. Just careful in GA though, there is now the Super Speeders law. Anyone going over 85 on ANY road in GA will get an additional $200 ticket ON TOP of the speeding ticket. So watch for cops!
