I am new to the forum, but live about 30 minutes away from the museum, might be fun to get to know some fellow bug owners....

Fantastic! Feel free to join! We'd love to have you. This is a great place, and you will find that GtG's are the BEST! And like Al said, Check out the Tail of the Dragon cruise coming up. If you'd like to go, there is a bugavan (group of crazy bug owners lol) in Georgia that is going to meet up with the Florida peeps and we'll ride up to North Carolina together! It'll be a blast for sure!

Look forward to seeing you on the 27th though. I think it'll be great! You'll have lots of fun and make some real cool friends!

That's great!

Ok folks, for those that expressed interest. You'll be receiving a pm from me with my cell number. If you could, I'd like to receive yours as well, so that way if something happens, I can contact you and you can contact me.

For those that don't know, usually when a large group bugavans together, we have 2 way radios so that we can all talk together on the ride there. Is this something of interest? Or should we just enjoy the cruise up as is?

I didn't get that pm, I must be special enough to know what's going on.

I like the idea of 2-way radios, but I never invested in some. Whenever I bugavanned and I didn't know how to get there I made sure I was right behind someone who did.

lol Well that's true. But I know when we bugavanned up to the ToD last year we had radios as well as on the dragon, it was kinda nice to be able to talk to everyone during that. And when we were in the Cherahola Skyway it was nice because there was NO cell phone reception. It's just a thought. I know it won't be a super long drive to the museum and back, but better than eatin up minutes on the cell phones and the 2-way option on Nextels I don't hear as much lol

I've got a set

(the other bad thing about cell phones is you can only tell something to 1 person at a time. )

Good point! We had 2-ways for the ToD, but I think Matt returned them when we got back LOL But I do know someone who has some we can use.

SO yeah, early morning/super late evening bump to this thread....because I can...and well...it's coming.....

Looks like you're going to have a great turnout. I'm disappointed we won't get to do the double bubble museum with you guys. Not sure if you're aware but Bruce Weiner is heir to the Double Bubble bubblegum empire. 100% of all admissions to the museum go towards charity. Animal rescue I think. And while you're there, checkout the Velorex 16/350. I plan on aquiring the bits and assembling one.

Sorry you won't be able to make it Gary It's sad that both you and Al are out for this one, but I understand. Life happens. Maybe you and Al can come back up and we'll go again. They are open Saturday March 13 and 27, so maybe then. We'll work it out. Good luck with the house!

The 27th would work better since we'll pretty much be settled in by then. Also by then, we'll be needing a break from landscaping. Other than the final, sod ready grading being done by the contractor, we'll be doing all the landscaping as well as putting in the driveway ourselves. Wanna come help spread 15cu.yds. of pea stone and lay 8,000sq.ft. of sod

Things have unfortunately come up with my family and I won't be able to make it to this GTG, so disappointed but family comes first.
