Columbia SC Meet N Eat Saturday July 24th

There appears to be plenty of parking to the left and rear of the building so with luck, we'll all be able to park together.

Let's all meet at 3:30 and wander inside for 4:00

With a little better than 2.5 weeks notice I hope we can get a good little GTG together.

Tentatively at the Mellow Mushroom in Columbia but I'm open to alternatives. The only drawback I see for the "shroom" is lack of photo op parking. I want to keep this low key and comfortable. I was thinking of gathering around 3:30 with eats around 4:00. If there is any interest, possibly a cruise around Lake Murray and the dam where I know photo ops abound

It sounds great. I will talk about it with my husband and see if he wants to go with me. And if it's on a weekend I can't not come because my husband has to work on weekends.

Plan on being there.. Is the Shroom an expensive place to eat? And is it kid friendly as we will have peanut with us.. I mean she is 8 yrs old but you know what I mean.. I am way excited!! We should be there as long as the cash is there..

I would assume kid friendly but have never eaten there so can't chime in on $$$. They have a website. And like I said, the location is open for debate. I know there is also a Ci-Ci's pizza in Columbia and they are very reasonable for what I think is pretty good pie.

i'm bummed. Doesn't look like I'll be able to make it. Mom just told me she'll be out of town that weekend So if I want to make the trip, I'd have to board the dogs and get the day off work. Ugh!

There isn't a MM in Charlotte? I didn't know that! There's one in Raleigh, Greensboro, and one just opened in Burlington of all places. Hopefully one will get to Charlotte soon

As for cost, I think its a good deal. Not super expensive. And they have really good pizza, and lots of different kinds. They also have amazing soft pretzels (coated in things like cinnamon and the like). Great for dessert. Also most definitely kid friendly. Very cool place. Gotta get there again sometime...was much easier when I worked in Downtown Raleigh since it was just a 10 minute walk!

nope.. none in charlotte. closest ones are greensboro, hickory, boone, and well.. columbia.. far as I know.

hehe... i've had a couple trips coming back from visiting the family in jacksonville fl where I stopped at the one in Savannah and brought home a pizza.

ETA: Ooooh! I just looked at the website again.. there *IS* one coming soon to charlotte... yay!!!

Like I said, the location is open for debate. But, if I don't get any other solid suggestions, I'll have to make the call and post the eatery

I've never been to a Sticky Fingers but it was a great Rolling Stones album. I'll have a looksee at their website to see if they have one in Columbia.
