Round up as many as you can Carla. We should have plenty of room since our site holds up to 30 people.

A week from today Denise and I will take a drive up there and scout about abit. Cel phone pics will have to do since the scumbags stole our Nikon

Gary, I just read through your thread about the scumbags. That sucks!

The wife and I may try to make this one. It would be out first NB GTG. My oldest is getting married in Oct. and I'm not sure what all that will do for any plans I may want to make.

We've been to that park many times in years past ( we used to live in that area) It is a very nice park.

Would love to have you join the crew for the day but understand about prior comittments. If you can't make October, be sure to check out the Tail of the Dragon thread and make plans to joinus next May. 2K11 will be the 3rd annual ToD GTG. Also keep an eye on the "southeast" region events section. We're an active group and have GTG's and "meet N eats" fairly regularly. In any event, glad to have you on board

In addition, with a username like "bugshop" are you into aircooleds as well? I cut my eye teeth on them and had quite a collection when we lived in NH. I have a thread dedicated to them here on the Org.

I see that, I hate I missed the MM GTG I love eating there. We have one up in Greenville but the one in Cola. is better.

Yeah I spent most of my younger years working on them. My first car at age 16 was a '66 sunroof but it was rusty so I did a...um...little parts swapping and built a '60 ragtop baja at 17. I had to get a job and went to work in a VW repair/restoration shop/300+ car vw junk yard in Cola. and was there 10 or 11 years. Then went to work on airplanes. I ran a little VW repair/reso. shop on the side for a few years.

So yes, I guess you could say I spent a little time working on aircooled VWs as well as pre 1990 liquid cooled gas and diesel.

I'll have to check out your aircooled VWs.

OH AND I LOVE YOUR AVATAR!!!

Have you guys ever had a GTG at Shealy's BBQ in Batesburg-Leesville, SC ? That's some good eats there!!!

Plus it's a buffet I don't know if they still do or not but they used to have a sign that said "Pay your way in and Eat your way out"

Never at Shealy's but we did have one at Sweatman's BBQ in Holly Hill. Award winning BBQ too, BTW.
We'd be up for one if someone wants to put one together. Just start the thread in the SE events/planning section. Plan it and they will come

Eclipse was turbo, I miss it sometimes but I am really happy with Smurfette.. When she was drivable.. I am sooooo sad about her not running.. Who knew one could be sad about a car not running. I feel like a part of me is missing. I can't wait till the gtg in October.. Is it Oct. yet?

Well, here's hoping I can make this one. I'm kinda in hot water with my boss right now...she may not give me the time off. Plus I gotta find someone to cover for me. I'm really beginning to HATE workig on Saturdays. Anyway, I'm still hoping...but we'll see. I'll keep my fingers crossed atleast.
