2011 Georgia GtG Pre-planning

Ok folks, it's that time again to think about what we wanna do for the Georgia GtG. Now it's already been suggested that we do a housewarming for Steve and Tamika since they just moved here to Georgia in November. But, I'm curious, do we wanna do something prior then head over? Or do we all just wanna gather at Steve and Tamika's and do kinda a cook out kinda thing?

I'm thinking the third Saturday of February. February 19th. How's that sound? I'd like to atleast have a date set by the first of the year, so please let me know asap if the 19th of February would work for everyone. It'll be a day long event. Or, for those that wanna stay a little longer, I've got some spare rooms at my house. Let me know. I want this to be a good GtG. This is kinda like our kick-off before ToD. So we gotta make it good.

Whichever Saturday (tho the 19th works for us) we'll be heading back home by 3:00. We'd like to be in the Atlanta area by 10:00 so we can at least spend a good 5 hours with friends. That said, a pre-gtg meeting location with cruise up to Dacula works as well for us as driving straight to S & T's. We'll go with the flow

Well let me know. Might do something like a "tech day" or what-not

We might be combining our monthly Vortex GtG w/ this NB GtG too. Not sure yet, still gotta check with Steve and Tamika about it. Although a LARGE VW gathering would be pretty awesome!!!

Anyway, so sounds like the 19th is a decent day...Although I know that's right after Valentines day....no one doing late V-day plans right???

No worries Gary. Our local Vortex group is a cool bunch of folks. Very much a "newbeetle.org" vibe. They aren't beetle haters which is a bonus! Still have to firm up plans with Steve and Tamika before we make anything set in stone yet. Sorry been a busy holiday week, especially with getting Probie back finally, but I will get some more info and keep ya'll posted.

Michelle, the 19th will work for us as well. The week prior is Mom's birthday, plus the Daytona 500, so i'm glad you picked the 19th

Talked with Tamika last night. Sounds like the GtG is a GO at their place! PLUS We'll have cake because Tamika's birthday is the 8th (atleast i think she said it was the 8th, it was late when she told me this lol)

So this GTG will be more low key than previous ones. But I think we've all gotten to know each other well and can have a great time just hanging out doing just about anything. If we don't want to cook out, there are several places in area we could eat. I know a fave is Five Guys Burgers and Fries...but that's an option.

For those that say they are for sure coming, I will send a private message with the address, I don't want to publish it on the internet for the whole world to see. So...ok, this is but a few mear weeks away....lets get some attendees!!!

Not sure on the vortex/org mix. Our local vortex meet is next weekend, I will talk with the co-ordinator of that as well as Steve and Tamika and let you guys know.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again. We'll be ok with a big group. Our goal is to line the cul-da-sac with dubs.

I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna have a vag by then. Id rather spend that money on someone else to fix the cabrio for me this time. I replaced what the codes brought up and its still not right.
