Hey Buddy! How's everything in the Great Northwest?

I find it easier to keep the limks on a word doc. Easier to catalogue. Need to check prices from one to the next thou, prices are all over the place.

I miss the yellow inserts (your latest pics) on your Take5s. Have you done your wheel mod yet? Did you ever look into another set, instead of doing the mod? I gave you a link, I think.

Take care, talk soon!

You don't say which side power window switch or which side door latch bezel. I see these regularly on eBay. Watch the prices though and compare to one of the VW Web Dealers. Many times, eBay parts are higher than retail, or web wholesale.

Howdy howdy howdy!
Money has been.... uhmm.. short, lets put it that way. Being unemployed and not in school right now, awaiting a disability judgement from the Federal government (sigh). As I jump through hoops and get xrays and hopefully mri's soon. But, the mods are all on hold. Been in just a bit too much pain for the last 6 months to really do anything productive. Been trying to keep mentally positive but that's not been too easy. At least the bit of communication I get from Beetle people here keeps me going

I've have attached a .pdf taken from my '02 OM regarding operation of the rear spoiler. The '03 may or may not operate the same. There was a change made to the operation somewhere along the way. I believe I read about a n issue with the spoiler that was subject of a recall. You can check with a Dealer for all recalls applicable to your call. There is no mileage considered and Dealers love recall work. The spoiler is also a maintenance/lubrication item, and lacking such may be why you find the noise objectionable.

As to oil, Castrol Syn, 5w40 or Mobil 1, 0w40. Best choices. Castrol is touted as a full synthetic, however, is a Class 3, Mobil 1 is a true Class 4, Full Synthetic. You going to get a ton of arguments here, a quality 5w30 is okay as long as it carries the VW502.00 Certification, I would not use the 10w as it does not have a cold flow rate suitable for the VW engines, which need the 0w or 5w winter weight for cold engine start up.
