Eureka Springs 2008?

I've never been...within the last few years there were rumors that they didn't have watercooled classes...does anyone know if this is true or not? Our club went in 2000-2002, but I wasn't showing at the time...they always said it was a beautiful drive.

We went in 2006. Only 11 trophies , all for aircooled. If you've never been, It's fun to go but it's packed with mostly aircooled VW's (maybe 200).They put us in the bottom of the lot at the back. We won't go back because he's trying to make it only aircooled but say's all VW's are welcome.

I noticed in the photo on their site like 3 new beetles. Wonder what year that was taken.

I won't go if there isn't a class to show in. Not that I care to win a trophy, but it feels like you have to really go all out and do a good job if something is on the line. Always that chance to win is a little more motivation to get everything pristine before a show.

I think that pic was before 2006 maybe 02.Thats the top lot there is another lot at the bottom of the hill with that many cars too. The year we went no H2O trophies. Not that we would of won anything anyway. 11 trophies for aircooled.They didn't tell anyone they cut the trophies back to 11 until the show started.Was told the show was getting too big and wanted to have only aircooled vehicles. Maybe 3 or 4 H2O we're there. We enjoyed the show. The cruise after the show is great!If you've never been to Eureka Springs you will enjoy it. Maybe try to get in touch with someone from the ARK. vw Club and find out if H2O are wanted back

I guess since they don't have a watercooled class and my co-pilot couldn't change his vacation to coincide with this we are out. Sounds like a nice trip, but if the show doesn't want us watercooled guys there I don't want to go where I am not really wanted, expecially for that far of a drive.

I will just be there for the day on Saturday. Not sure I will have my bug with me bc I am a lil ashamed of her without her nice shoes. LOL.

Is there two different shows in Eureka springs this weekend? The other dub site I frequent is going to ES this weekend but they all drive watercooled dubs.

Ok Cool. You may or may not see them around. They will have rally magnets on the side of their dubs and there should be a grey and white beetle there (prolly not showing) but it looks really good!! It is almost a complete rebuild I am going to try to get him to come to the TNBRU show in 3 weeks.

I saw A LOT of VWs with rally magnets on them lol. Also saw Beetlemania's car but I didnt know how to recognize him personally lol.

They are from the other site I go to called wetdub. They have chapters in oklahoma, texas, kansas, Arkansas, colorado and a few more I think.

CRAP! I was looking around for you and Trixie (though now I see Trixie was a no-show) but thought you hadn't made it. You gonna be at Conway in October?

Actually, Trixie did make the drive up. She was parked in the high school's parking lot while we walked around the show. What's in Conway? Feel free to link me if there is something on here.

Hey, how about that 2 week delay in replies, huh?

Bugtoberfest will be at Toad Suck Park outside of Conway on Oct. 4th. I had to miss the show last year due to the DFW club's Texas New Beetle RoundUp. I'm glad I get to participate in more this year! Hooray! Hope you can make it!
