June Bugs on Horsetooth Cruise and GTG

Let's plan a GTG for June, probably around the middle of the month. PzwoTDi is visiting from New Jersey and will be in Laramie.

I'll be flying out the 12th my b-day's the 14th.. I am soo tempted to drive out!

I am very tempted to drive out... Seriously! I got to get my TS serviced and checked over and I would drive it out. It would take me a few days.
It'll be great to meet you all, it's one of my favorite things about the VW/ New Beetle life, is the people.

I am going to think about driving out.. Worse comes worse, I'll fly. I have no issues with transportation out there. I am staying with my Aunt, so I'll def bring her along. She's a Beetle fan too

Depending on what day and where, I'll be there. I have nothing scheduled right now, but it all depends on what you guys come up with. If you schedule something that will be kind of far, I may have to skip it, due to Roswell being around that time. It just depends. I will do my best, just let me know.

I'm thinking somewhere central - maybe Fort Collins? There are plenty of photo ops in the foothills, like the Horsetooth area. Or we could introduce our visitor to local cuisine at Johnson's Corner. A quick pic in front of the semis would be cool.

That would be fairly convenient for our visitor from Jersey. If anyone has any suggestions, please post here!! Also post if you have a specific time that works for you.

Cori, thanks for your efforts.. you really got a fire lit under my foot now.
Ft. Collins would own, but set it up anyway you want it, I really appreciate the hospitality, I am very very excited about this.
On another note.. I am considering driving out.. I'll have to save up to make sure my Bug is in top shape.
I am nearing the 100k mark, so I'll prob have to lay down some cash to make sure it's 100%.
It's going to take me 2-3 days to get out there.. I would roll to Roswell, but I doubt I'll get the time off from work . We'll see.. either way I am there!

I sent a PM to as many Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska Beetlers as I could remember. Another photo op would be the top of the Old Town parking garage in Fort Collins. There's several great restaurants there too.

Not sure what's happening here. lol But I wanted to respond because I really like being a part of the New Beetle bunch.

Not sure what "GTF" is. I think might be a first call to a New Beetle event? A "Get together" maybe? There are a lot of acronyms used here that I have to learn.

I live in Southwest Nebraska. This is a long way from Roswell, if Roswell means Roswell, New Mexico. On the other hand, the names of Fort Collins, Colorado and Laramie, Wyoming popped up during the posts. Fort Collins is a mere hop, skip and a jump away from my home in McCook, Nebraska.

Hi there Donald. GTG is short for "get together", meaning anywhere there is a meeting of 2 or more Beetles/drivers. Yes, Roswell means Roswell, NM. Check out the Roswell thread for more info. We would love to meet you - hope you can make it to one(or more)GTGs!!

Hi CoriBug,

RE: Grant and Elsie, Nebraska. Before I retired I was a Senior Probation Officer with the State of Nebraska. I routinely traveled to Grant and Elsie for court hearings. Grant, NE is a bit larger than Elsie.

I'll stay informed on the Roswell thingie.

I am on the fence about GTG's since I am married with 2 kids! I'd be up for a trip to Ft Collins but I might have to drive my Eurovan if my wife heads back to Ohio with the bug.

I'll keep an eye on what develops and see what I can pull off. Hopefully by then I can get a few other mods done that have been sitting in the garage (short shifter/NS rear swaybar/ forge TIP)

Since we have some time to plan this, I would like to determine a date, time and place so we can promote it. Does Saturday or Sunday work better? I'm assuming we need to do this on the weekend.

I am guessing Saturday, for most people, but I am flexible. We'll have to see what the others say.

Sat the 13th or Sunday the 14th ( My birthday ) is good... I think I'll be rolling in from Evanston Sat possibly. I got to check w/ my Aunt to see what's going down.I'll keep you posted Cori, either way you know I'll be there

I am flying out.. It'll be a bit easier this time around. Next time.. Road trip.
