~Cruise to Cripple Creek - 10/4/09 - meet at 10am at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center and leave by 10:30. See below for details.

~Octdubber Fest - see thread for more info. I will not be there.

The show at Ed Carroll was today. I won a door prize - 2 cigars and 2 car magazines from Al's News stand. No, I didn't smoke the cigars.

The weather was good, a little chilly but no wind or rain. The Porsches filled over half the lot. For VW, we had one other Beetle - a Turbo S, a GLI, a Jetta, a Rabbit, a Thing, and a couple air-cooled Beetles. I talked to the owner of the Turbo S. About 10 Audis were there also. I also tagged a gecko green and a cyber green NBC who parked nearby. The owner of the NBC grabbed the flyer off her car and looked rather irritated.

Then the show was over, but we had to exit around the building because a F-150 truck was blocking the main exit.

~Garden of the Gods - THIS Saturday, Sept 5

Meet at Garden of Gods Visitor Center 10am
Take group photo for VW photo contest
Start drive at 10:30 with stops along the way
Picnic lunch 11:30 at Scotsman Picnic Area
At 12:30 head to Manitou Cliff Dwellings ($9)
At about 3:00 go to Manitou Springs for
shopping.

Dont forget your camera and a picnic lunch. This will be a great day, please rsvp so we dont leave anyone behind.

So our arrangements for a place to stay fell through and the rest of the family was already going to the lake for camping SOOOOOO... that means I am gonna miss the Garden of the Gods GTG...

I will however be trying to make the cripple creek run if the bug is not torn to bits at that point...

Garden of the Gods was fun and the weather cooperated too!! I will get my pictures up as soon as I have a spare moment.

~Cruise to Cripple Creek - Sunday, 10/4/09
Meet at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center at 10am. It is easily accessible from I-25. We will leave NO LATER THAN 10:30. Cripple Creek is approximately 1.5 hours from the Garden of the Gods. Besides the casinos, there is a mine to tour, shopping, and restaurants. Please contact me if you are going. This will probably be our last state-wide event until spring. However, you are encouraged to print out a flyer from our website and tag as many NBs as possible and plan GTGs in your town.

I will now NOT be able to make this run... I have had a slow coolant leak for the past month and a half and I was hoping to make Cripple Creek my last run, but it has gotten much worse and I am afraid it is looking more and more like the water pump seal etc being out... So my poor beetle will be going under the knife *er* wrench sooner rather than later... Sorry I will miss you guys this fall, I look forward to hitting most of the meets next spring and summer and trying to get more beetlers from the casper area involved... Lots of luck guys and gals!!!!

Bump for Cripple Creek!!!

Unfortunately, I can't make it Sunday! My mom and I are moving into an apartment in the building where she has lived for a few years. We paint my room tomorrow night and my aunt and uncle will move my stuff Saturday. And my Marine Corps League and Auxiliary has our semi-annual garage sale tomorrow and Saturday. So that leaves Sunday for unpacking! I don't like leaving everything scattered all over; I really need to get unpacked and settled before the work week.
