Seems I always miss this one. Was planning on doing this for the past two years...but it's too close to the Tail of the Dragon for me to make it this year.

I'm trying to decide whether to drive down on Sunday morning or not. I can't take the whole weekend...just too much $ and time before ToD....

Ok, here we go. The Offical 2010 Texas Classic Cruise route from Houston.

We will meet at Buc-ee's @ 290 and Mueschke road at 8am on Friday April, 16, 2010. We will be departing Buc-ee's at 9am, this should allow almost everyone that wants to cruise with us time enough to arrive, top off with gas, and have breakfast.

The first stop will be a Buc-ee's in Giddings. (About 77 miles.) This will allow for everyone to stretch there legs and make necessary pit-stops.

The second stop will be at the Roadhouse in Bastop, just across from Bastop State Park, for lunch. (About 27 miles.) Adult menu Kids menu

After we enjoy lunch the third stop will be at the Wal-Mart in San Marcos just before I-35. (about 45 miles.) This will be a pit stop, get gas, and for everyone to regroup if anyone gets separated or wants to meet up with us.

Next we will continue on and go through the Devil's Backbone scenic route and stop at the Shell station in Blanco. (About 37 miles.) Again pit-stops and gassing up.

The final leg of the cruise will take us all the way to Lady Bird Johnson Park. (About 49 miles.) I hope everyone that is in the cruise will continue to the park or at least make it through Fredericksburg so we can make our presence known, but this is optional.

I would think it is rain or shine. I am trying to make it for Saturday but it is looking more like Sunday though. I hope that there will still be a good turn out...

The show is happening rain or shine. Last I saw it was going to be about 30% over the weekend. On the flip side of it, won't get sunburned as bad, lol.

Yes, the show is rain or shine. It is crazy raining down here now, but things are supposed to start impoving by the weekend with a slight chanse, 20 - 30% Sunday. I am about 70 miles south of Fredricksburg, so hopefully it is better up there.
I still need to change the oil and clean it up. It has a nice coating of green Oak pollen all over it.Kinda hard to do since it is under the carport and everyting is wet.
See you there.

More bad weather news for the Texas VW Classic. According to TV, Fredericksburg, like us in Bandera County got 3+" of rain yesterday. Most school districts from here north to Fredericksburg are closed today. Forecast for Fredericksburg, 60% TS tommorrow and 50% Sunday. Lot of closed roads and flooding. I plan to be there anyway, if it ever stops raining long enough to finish the car.

It is looking more and more like I will be missing the mud-fest. I have been watching the news/weather and the rain has been tot he West, right over Fredricksburg. I may be a no show.

I registered in advance, so I'd rather not lose out on that registration money. I'll plan to be there, though it's looking like I may not get to wash the car before I go...Quik Detailer will have to suffice.

edit: Reading on thesamba.com, it looks like people are still planning on heading down. Let's think dry, happy thoughts!

Forecast is now showing 10% chance of rain and partly cloudy on Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed.
