Default Headlight replacement

I'm trying to help a friend. Need to know the steps in replacing a burned out headlight. Dealership said it would cost $150. Hopefully it's a simple process. She owns a 2004 beetle (turbo).

Thanks, Alan

Hey there! When it comes to doing anything under the hood, I am all thumbs and elbows! Last night, I took my headlight out, so it is very easy! When I put it back, it pushed too hard on the little tab, and it broke off But I checked it out and it is in there good with the handle down. YOu shouldn't have any problem!!!

Default Its all plastic

Hi,

Well anytime you work on the new beetle remember its all plastic.. the plastic breaks any time you touch it. I have broken almost all the head lamp peices at some point. The worst part is that the lever is usually stuck and wont move without force that will break the tab off. I suggest spraying some wd 4o in the track or groves that will free it up a bit. The actual bulbs are easy to replace. its the head lamp assembly that is very expensive. Take your time invest in a Bentley published manual if you are keeping the car. they are around $ 70.00 but worth all that money in knowledge..

Good luck

That plastic piece you broke is roughly $16 at your dealership. They should have plenty in stock because they are so often broken.
