Default NorCal VW BBQ '08, June 1st!

We are announcing ......
NorCal VW BBQ & Potluck '08!!

NorCal VW BBQ & Potluck '08!
Sunday June 1st 11:00 Grubbin begins at noon!

Hosted this year again at Oak Grove Regional Park in the Oaks Pavilion, Located right off of I-5 just south of Lodi, CA. And since you guys all totally blew us away last year with attendance… (we lost count when attendance passed 400!! ).... we've also acquired the ENTIRE west half of the park.. to provide more paved parking, just for us !

This year should be an awesome get-to-gether! With the vendor support on board for our NorCal VW clubs, we will be providing Burgers & dogs for the grill, a raffle with many donated goodies from our vendors and (Back by popular demand) a DUNK TANK, where for small donations to the SPCA you may select your club official of choice OR anyone else you want to fall victim to your mighty ability to drown them with your skillz

** Added this year is the *official* NorCal VW Volkswagen Sharpie Tattoo Contest! Bust out your favorite ink and find a willing subject…select your ‘canvas location’ (or sharpie their entire body.. that’s cool) and put your best dub-art to work. Make sure they show it off proudly when they get there… we will be doing an on-stage contest of the best Sharpie-ed tattoos mid day during the bar-b-q!

** Added this year (it’s a secret…. Info on this one will be out soon )

Secret no more! We are pleased to announce the:

Tricycle Rallye!

Additionally the park has a lake with rentable paddle boats, fishing, nature trail and a hardcore Frisbee golf course .

As with usual NorCal VW tradition... aside from the burgers, dogs and tableware- the rest of the grub will be potluck style! There is no way we were going to pass up on some of the bitchin food that you guys bring out- so post up what you want to bring! (mmmmm… who's bringing Lumpia???)

So – post up what you're bringing… and let's start planning this awesome good day! Can't wait to see you there!

Directions: Interstate 5 (just south of Lodi) Exit east on Eight Mile Road. The park entrance is just up about a mile on the right! (There is a $5 charge per vehicle and $1 per dog by the park)

***Note- reminder- there is NO CHARGE for the BBQ, but, Oak Grove Regional Park will charge a $5 per car and $1 per doggie entry fee for the day

Awesome Amber I am glad you posted here.... I was just thinking about posting this and the poker run, since I realized I never posted the Niello info here.

As you know we are looking forward to making it this year. Probably not in the NB due to the mutts..... those 2 in the back seat of the NB would be NO BUENO!

yeah but I can just see nose prints on glass.... slober on everything... then dog hair with all the various interior work in that car is a no go.

We should be good to go now though.... with me starting work I just have to get insurance worked out and set enough aside for smog and reg and we will load up the vert.

Alright guys! Less than 2 weeks with a kick ass bug-0-rama in the middle of now and then…. Time to sharpen up the grill tools . Killer response for expected turn out everywhere! We are totally stoked and can’t wait to come hang with everyone… AND the projected forecast for the day is 88 DEGREES! Sa-weet! Plus we are acquiring quite the haul of neat schwag to get rid of.. lol

Let’s start getting a grub list started! I scanned through and found a few peeps that are throwing out what they are bringing for grub… so here’s a start! Throw up what you want to bring and we’ll update the list at the top of the page!

Not too far and there is at least a caravan or two coming from the SFBA. Either NorCal VW or vwvortex will have info. If you can't find it let me know and I'll find you a caravan to ride along with!

Oooh this sounds fun and I'll only be 1-2 hours away.

Too bad I'll be working

I have 200 people flying into a conference I am organizing on June 1st... if it was May 31st I could have rented a car and came and found some of the norCal folks.

Default Thank YOU!

You Guys and Girls never cease to amaze me: The Dubbers from all over, the wonderful Supporters, and especially the NorCal VW crew.

All of the dub lovers, the awesome clubs, your kids, and your dogs, who came to chill, relax, and have a little fun in the perfect NorCal weather, YOU are the reason the NorCal VW team put this shindig together. YOU guys are who make it FUN!

No one could enjoy the day without the support of Roseville VW, Niello VW, Elk Grove VW, Tomas Sport Tuning, 034motorsport, techtonics tuning, WRD, Specialized German Recycling, the comic lounge, shaka, Kombi Haus, Ozsport, House of Dubs, Portola Valley Garage, Genesis Auto Upholstery and of course...we ALL love our rockstar! I don't mean to sound like a broken record listing everyone who contributed to the BBQ but keep in mind: without them it wouldn't happen, they are supporting YOU, our passion, and our bellies with good grub!

And finally...I keep seeing thanks to Amber and I, and we appreciate it, but I'm telling you, without the WHOLE NorCal VW team this event wouldn't get off the ground: Ben and Beth, Scott and Roque, AJ, Rob, Jason, Bryan, Edison, Ermin, Monty and Jill, put in a huge amount of time and energy to make this happen. Thanks guys, we know how hard you work for this.

So from NorCal VW, to ALL of you: THANK YOU! We will continue to do our best to Unite VW Enthusiasts in Northern California!
