Need advice ~ entering my bug in her first car show

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!

I need ADVICE!! I decided to enter my car, Riley into the Bugorama "new beetle" category this weekend in Sacramento, CA.

1. What should I do to prep my car?
2. Should I leave the wind screen in the backseat or just leave the backseats open to view?
3. What do you do to prep for a show and shine event?

We will wash and detail the car in San Jose before we leave for Sacramento and then do another mini-wash the morning of the car show...

Any ADVICE is welcome.

Mostly I am entering just to have fun and check out the other cars at the show. They are doing bug drag races also! Fun!!

"The Sacramento Bugorama is like no other VW event in the World. We open the gates on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. to allow for overnight camping, swap meet set-up and test & tune for the drag racers. Well for starters, if there will be kids around keep that in mind so you dont loose any items that are in your car.

For example, in Roswell NM alot of people had the little hotwheel beetles in their beetles and the kids stole them right out of the cars. You have to put these type of items away or watch your car very close. Its a shame that it happens but it does. So just keep that in mind.

It never hurts to detail the car and make it purdy right? This is a great event it sounds like. You help grow the love for beetles by showing yours off. Keep it up.

I would also recommend advertising this wonderfull web site. You can do that in many ways, but of course I think you should get a decal from me to advertise the site.. LOL

Anyway take lots of pictures because we would love to see the event and your beetle..

My hubby just detailed Riley...He did a GREAT job! So we will just retouch it up Sunday morning before the show. I can't wait!

Thanks for the tips. I was planning to display my mini-beetle cars, but I think I will skip that idea since I don't want little muchkins to walk off with them.

Good luck at the show! Try not to worry.

Generally most people who attend try to not touch the car and just look.

I had signs made for me at the last show I went to ... They are cute:

I put it in my engine bay ... I also had a miniature model of my car sitting on top of the engine cover (at multiple shows) and no one ever touched it.
