Small G2G in Portland/Vancouver area?

I am going to visit my son over on the coast this weekend and I plan on spending Fri and Sat night in the Portland/Vancouver area so was wondering if any buggers in that area would want to get together for lunch/dinner/cruise?

My Bug is in the shop , but i'm HOPING to get it back on Wednesday or Thursday.

I'm going to Astoria for a 2 hour visit on Sat then back to Port/Van, I think Longview is right near there isn't it? Uh oh....in the shop for what? I hope it's out, I'd like to check it out and get a pic with mine.

A. If you are going to Astoria, Longview is RIGHT on the way to Portland / Vancouver =)

B. It's in the shop because it went in for the Coilpack recall and somehow the VW techs BROKE my mass airflow sensor and my throttle body. I've been dealing with it for FOUR months. I've had to get towed 4 or 5 times, I've had to put in $300 in parts / labor , supposedly fixing things they claimed the problem was, even though they already admitted it was there fault. So they put in a new MAS but not a Throttle body. Anyway, it died again and I went back and MADE them replace the throttle body. I get it back on Wednesday hopefully.

They are paying for *half* my rental car. They should have paid for all of it. And since I'm paying, they have managed to STALL on my car and NOT fix it for 2 days now by claiming that the manager was busy in a meeting. Um. The techs can work on the car no matter if the manager is in a meeting or not, she already authorized the work

So, when I go back I'll see about making them pay for the rest of the rental since they are screwing me in every way humanly possible, INCLUDING having ripped a hole in my hose that goes to my PCV valve which they then made me replace with new hoses / pcv claiming THAT was my problem. It wasn't. So I'm out $176 in parts and $150 in labor for THAT crap too.

NEVER take your car to the Dick Hannah VW dealer in Vancouver, Washington. Never. Ever.

Since last friday, yes ma'am.

I'll be coming down to get it soon I hope. Even though they are kind of stringing me along right now, probably because I have a rental car now and they are going to milk it for all its worth.

They have had the car since last Friday, and for 3 days, the only thing they did was diagnose that, yes, the throttle body was dead and their fault. Then it was supposed to be replaced. But instead of replacing it, they have been doing.. well.. NOTHING. They keep saying "We're looking into getting it done." Uhm. Well, DO it already. They already have the part (they said so), and the time (they said that too).. so why hasn't it actually been DONE yet?

I will be coming through there on the way back from Astoria on Sat evening. I will leave Astoria around 4pm and then however long it takes to get to longview....1 hour or so? Maybe have dinner or something?

I had a crappy day....big ticket and an arguement with an officer. He said I waqs doing 75 in a 60 and I know for a fact there was NO WAY! I asked him to see his radar whatchamacallit and he said "I didn't log it". So it's my word against his and guess who will win that one! Apparently he video taped the whole conversation so I will fight this one in court. I'm fine with a $144 ticket if I earned it....But I didn't!!

Yah. Fight it. Last time they tried to give me one I didn't deserve I went to the judge and stated my case, they threw it out because the officer didn't bother showing up to dispute it

Well, I feel VERY sheepish right now.

Here I was packing about 2 grand worth of camera equipment right? And I took all those "nice" photos?

Taking a WARM glass lens from the car into the 40 degree night air.. the lens was fogged and I didn't notice. Not a single usable image from the group
