CANCELED UNTIL MORE ARE INTERESTED...Pacific West Coast Bug Soiree,

Calling all Washington state, Oregon state and California state buggers!!!
Nevada, Idaho, & Arizona buggers could join too!

I would like to coordinate an entire combined West Coast event…WHO IS INTERESTED?

DATES: (a 3 day weekend of Friday, June 29, 2012 – Saturday, June 30,2012 – July 1, 2012)

This is over a year away so it gives everyone plenty of time to plan and prepare and save money…
Something similar to what they do on the east coast for “Tail of the Dragon” event.

The pacific west coast spans approx 20 hours total driving from San Diego, CA (south) all the way up to Bellingham, WA (north). It appears the easiest, most obvious midpoint location spot would be meeting in Redding, CA as it’s approximately 10 hours from the south and 10 hours from the north. Redding, CA has affordable hotels and has easy access to beautiful Shasta Lake!

Proposed agenda:

Friday, June 29, 2012:
The beetles arrive in Redding, CA beginning early/mid afternoon until evening. Photo ops / meet and greet / motel check-in. Two separate groups can carabug from the south and another group from the north to Redding, CA.

Saturday, June 30, 2012:
Group breakfast, Group cruise from Redding to SHASTA LAKE, CA, Dinner/Event in the evening.

Sunday, July 1, 2012:
Group breakfast and then departure to carabug home.

That's 7-8 hours from where I live!

But I'd be interested. Just a question;

Aside from gas and hotel--what else would we need to pay for?

By then I'll have graduated from school and have made enough money to make the trip! : )

I can go! I'll bring my TS and I can stay with reletives. I'm like 3 hours away in Klamath Falls, Oregon. About 20 miles from the California border.

It doesn't look like there was enough interest so I will cancel the idea/event. Maybe we can get some interest for an event for the entire west coast for another event and get something going in the future. I think it'd be fun!!
