Cool Question about wheels

I found a set of VW Wheels in my area. However, the seller found them is their house when they moved in and has no info on bolt pattern nor backspacing. I could use some assistance from someone who knows. I know that they should be 100mm or 112mm. I'm going to go and take a look at them tomorrow. Any assistance would be greatly appreciate.

The owner states that they are 18 inch wheels, I'm not sure if he's even sure of that either.

There's a chance something will be marked on the wheel. The size most likely will be, along with the VW part number.

Looks like one of these 2 (17" 5x100 or a 16" 5x112)

Thanks for the reply. The seller says that there isn't anything stamped on the wheels. I'll take a good look at them when I take a visit to the sellers house after work on Monday.

Default those dont look similar to me...

sorry...but those wheels look different to me...wouldnt use them as a comparison....

since you're going to look at them tomorrow...no big deal....if you're lazy...have the seller take a picture with a measuring tape included in the foto if you're unsure....

They look like 17" VW Monte Carlo 5x112. If they are, adapters are required to fit a beetle. Adapters for all 4 wheels will run you roughly $300 - $400.

Here, towards the bottom of the page: 17 VW wheel picture gallery 5x112

saw those wheels on Norfolk Craigslist...definitely worth a look.

wandered out to the garage to take a peek at my GTI wheels, forlornly awaiting new tires.

vw part number is stamped on the inside of the wheel, on the spokes...might help you nail down size, bolt pattern, offset, etc.

just saw this ad for another local set of wheels...might be worth a look. http://norfolk.craigslist.org/pts/1117270579.html
