Default Wanted: Someone with a manual and patience

Ollie has decided that he wishes to learn to drive a manual. Dad no longer has any beater manuals to learn on, and right now, Monty is the only bug out of three that is running. So, if you live within a decent distance of 21502, and wouldn't mind spending time teaching Ollie to shift, we will gladly trade dinner, cash, manual labor....

I can take the Jetta up for that Benassi concert and give him a lesson or two in it.

That would be nice of you. Not sure if Ollie will be here or in VA then, when he wakes up I will ask. Wait, Peaches is an auto?

Peaches is a manual, but she has a relatively new clutch =)

The Jetta also has a stiffer clutch than the Beetle. It also needs to be replaced eventually.

But practice on various kinds of clutches is good, and the Jetta manages to make even the seasoned driver stall out.

But if we're gonna be in DC, I'd just die if something happened to Peaches... would rather take the boring old sedan (really they imported more 06 TDIs than any other year) than the rare 98 Beetle TDI.

Understood, especially since Peaches has an even lower VIN than Monty. Did you ever figure out her build date?

If I still lived up in MD, I would offer up my car. I'll be teaching my sister in law how to drive manual in Darla this summer hopefully. I learned to drive manual on her. Great car to learn on

But I live in NC and probably won't be back to MD anytime soon...and if I do come back its either by plane (since my soon-to-be mother in law loves to pay for plane tickets for us to visit ) or in my fiance's Honda...its a Honda and it has cruise control so it wins to be the travel car.

We're in Raleigh but have a wedding to go to this weekend, and our own wedding we're planning for (which is in 18 days eek!) so we're super crazed right now. Our wedding is actually going to be in Clemmons at Tanglewood Park!

Stella might be willing to volunteer her services. Clemmons is under an hour and a half from me. Figured out how long the trip down here'll be?
